Role summary;
As a Senior Executive -Accounting at Payoneer WFM, you will support the accounting and financial reporting activities for multiple entities across different jurisdictions. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts, supporting month-end closure, preparing reconciliations and schedules, assisting with statutory and tax compliance, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation, excellent Excel skills, good communication abilities, and the ability to work accurately across multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment.
What you’ll do
- Support accounting operations for multiple legal entities across different jurisdictions, ensuring books are accurate, complete, and updated on a timely basis.
- Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, provisions, schedules, and supporting workings.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, vendor/customer ledgers, and other key financial schedules.
- Maintain accurate financial records in the general ledger and ensure transactions are classified in line with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Support the preparation of management reports, MIS, and financial reporting packs for internal stakeholders.
- Assist in statutory audits, internal audits, and tax-related reviews by preparing documentation, schedules, and responses to auditor queries.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Tax, Payroll, Compliance, Operations, and external consultants across jurisdictions.
- Track open accounting items, follow up for timely closure, and ensure proper documentation of accounting judgments and reconciliations.
- Work with accounting systems and tools for data entry, reconciliation, reporting, and analysis. Prior experience with tools such as Xero or similar accounting platforms will be an added advantage.
- Use Excel extensively for reconciliations, reports, analysis, and review of large data sets.
Who you are -
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, month-end closure, or entity accounting.
- Strong command of accounting concepts, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, intercompany accounting, and financial schedules.
- Experience working with multiple entities, regions, or jurisdictions is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills are a must, including working knowledge of formulas, lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations, and large data sets.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to coordinate clearly with internal teams, external consultants, and auditors.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while escalating issues appropriately.
- Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills; ability to convey important messages clearly and compellingly
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting software will be an added advantage.
- Chartered Accountant qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
