Role summary
We’re building a new AI capability that will be embedded across Payoneer’s products and internal operations.
Our mission is to create reusable, production-grade Multi AI agents System that can understand context, connect to Payoneer’s data and business logic through secure tools/APIs.
This is not a single feature or a one-off chatbot. It’s a long-term engineering effort to design and deliver a scalable multi-agent system that can support many use cases across channels.
You’ll work on agents, tooling, orchestration, observability, evaluation, and safe deployment patterns.
What you’ll do
  • Build backend services in Node.js (TypeScript) to run and serve agents across multiple products and channels.
  • Implement agent workflows: routing, orchestration, tool calling, and synthesizing results into UI/API-ready outputs.
  • Build and maintain high-quality Tools agents consume: secure internal API connectors, data fetchers, business logic wrappers, and knowledge retrieval.
  • Add observability: tracing, logging, prompt/model versioning, token/cost tracking, and quality metrics.
  • Create evaluation harnesses: regression checks, and feedback loops to continuously improve accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Product/Operations/Security
Who you are
  • 3 years of hands-on Node.js + TypeScript experience
  • BS Degree in computer science
  • Experience building backend services (preferably NestJS)
  • Strong fundamentals: REST APIs, async patterns, debugging, performance considerations
  • Experience working with data sources (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Experience with distributed systems: caching (Redis), queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ), containers/K8s
  • Strong knowledge in CI/CD + feature flags + environment separation (dev/test/prod)
  • Strong learning ability - fast to pick up new domains, tools, and patterns, and comfortable working in ambiguity
  • High ownership and strong work ethic - motivated, proactive, and willing to work hard to deliver high-impact outcomes
  • Team player with clear communication skills and a practical, solution-oriented mindset
  • LLM/agent experience (OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, LangChain/LangGraph, function/tool calling) - Nice to have
  • Observability tools (Langfuse, OpenTelemetry, Grafana/Datadog, etc.) - Nice to have
Why join this team
  • Build a foundational AI capability that will power multiple high-impact use cases across the company
  • Work on real production constraints: reliability, security, cost control, and measurable outcomes
  • High ownership and strong technical depth with fast iteration and visible business impact
