Role summary
We are looking for an experienced leaderโฏto join our Checkout business line as Director, Head of Operations & Risk This role will lead Operations and oversee Risk functions, ensuring seamless merchant onboarding, E2E merchant operation lifecycle responsibility, robust risk controls, and scalable processes that support our rapid growth while exceeding Operations & Risk KPIs.โฏ
You willโฏroll up your sleevesโฏand work closely with your teams, driving operational excellence, implementing risk frameworks and processes, and enabling a best-in-class merchant experience. What youโll do
- Lead & Inspire:โฏManage and develop global teams of operations and risk specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, customer centricity, and continuous improvement.โฏ
- E2E Merchant Operation Lifecycle Responsibility: Oversee merchant onboarding, Customer and GTM support, Financial operation, Chargebacks & pre dispute representment, and payment optimization.
- Operational Excellence: Build & Optimize โฏoperational workflows, and first-line merchant support processes. Identify gaps, streamline processes, and implement scalable solutions including use of AI & advanced tech tools.โฏ
- Risk Leadership:โฏOversee the execution of risk policies across underwriting, fraud prevention, and credit risk management for merchants and buyers in the PSP space .โฏ
- Be Hands-On:โฏDive into operational and risk processes to ensure critical issues are resolved quickly and effectively.โฏ
- Data-Driven Decisions:โฏLeverage data and analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive informed decision-making across risk and operations.โฏ
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:โฏPartner with Product, Commercial teams and Compliance to align on business objectives, mitigate risks, and deliver exceptional merchant experiencesโฏโฏ
- Scale for Growth:โฏBuild frameworks and processes that enable rapid scaling while maintaining compliance, risk appetite and cost optimizationโฏ
- Budget & Vendor Management: Own team budgets and manage relationships with vendors to ensure cost efficiency and service quality.โฏ
Who you are
- Experience:โฏ10+ years in operations and/or risk management (underwriting, fraud, and credit risk) within the payments industry, preferably at a global PSP.โฏ
- Leadership:โฏProven track record managing global teams (5+ FTE) across multiple geographies.โฏ
- Expertise:โฏDeep understanding of payment flows, merchant acquiring, and risk frameworks.โฏ
- Tech-Savvy:โฏComfortable with data analytics, automation tools, and technology-driven solutions.โฏ
- Strategic & Hands-On:โฏAbility to think big while executing operational details with precision.โฏ
- Communication:โฏStrong stakeholder management and ability to influence at all levels.โฏ
