Sick leave in Cambodia
Employees get sick leave in Cambodia for 7 days, and it can be extended to 6 months in case of prolonged sickness.
An employee may, however, furnish proper medical documents showing serious illness and receive leave and benefits from the National Social Security Fund.
Employees become eligible for sickness benefits if they have made sufficient contributions, either two consecutive months or six months within the last 12 months.
If employment ends, coverage continues for a limited period: up to two months where eligibility is based on two consecutive months of contributions, or up to six months where it is based on six months of contributions within the last year.
After prolonged absence due to illness, the employer may consider termination of the employment contract in accordance with applicable laws.
Maternity leave in Cambodia
In Cambodia, female employees are entitled to a maternity leave of 90 days. During maternity leave in Cambodia, you have to pay employees half of their wages.
For one year from the date of the child’s birth, female employees shall get an hour’s break per day during working hours to breastfeed their child.
Paternity leave in Cambodia
Employees are entitled to paid paternity leave in Cambodia for 7 days.
