ROI ROCKET TO GIVE PARTNER WEB SITE OWNERS PREPAID CARDS

ROI Rocket Inc., which helps advertisers buy space on Web sites, today announced plans to use reloadable prepaid MasterCards provided by New York-based Payoneer Inc. to pay Web-site owners globally for ad space. Using the cards would allow ROI to pay site owners more quickly than with paper checks, the Englewood, Colo.-based company says. MasterCard will calculate the exchange rate for foreign currencies. Yuval Tal, Payoneer CEO, says MasterCard's currency exchange rate often is better than that given by banks. Also, if a Web-site owner who hosts ads for ROI loses the card or it is stolen, Payoneer will cancel the card and transfer the remaining balance to a new one. Web-site owners can check their card balances and account activity at a dedicated site on the Internet. First Bank of Delaware in Wilmington would issue the cards. Tal says the cards help solve a problem that has been a part of Internet commerce for a long time: how to pay a large amount of sites small amounts of money.

"They will use checks or PayPal or an expensive wire-transfer network. The card is a smooth and simple solution to replace them," Tal says. (c) 2007 CardLine and SourceMedia, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
